Great Northern, Small Red and Pinto Beans are the star of this savory show, with just the right hint of spice. Just add fresh onions and tomatoes, and, if you like, a meat substitute like tofu, and simmer away. Season to taste and serve with your favorite bread or rolls, and fresh tomatoes sprinkled generously with fresh basil, garlic and freshly grated Romano cheese. Yum...!!! And we promise again... all natural, no sugar, no salt. Each Savory Soup Sack comes with easy to follow cooking instructions, nutrition facts and savory soup mix spice pack. Chili Vegetariano Instructions Add the following: 1 Large Onion, chopped 2 Tablespoons olive oil 1 lb. Ground meat substitute 1 28 oz. can (Chopped or Pureed) tomatoes Remove Savory Spice Pack, set aside. Rinse and Check beans. Drain and place beans into a large pot with 10 cups water. Bring to a boil uncovered for 10 minutes. Lower heat, cover and simmer until beans are SOFT (2 - 2-1/2 hours). When beans are soft... put olive oil into a large pan and add chopped onion. Sauté until onion is soft. Add meat substitute, breaking into small pieces. Add the Savory Spice Pack and tomatoes. Set aside. Drain beans and combine with tomato mixture in large pot. Heat for 25 minutes. Add additional water for desired consistency. Enjoy...!!!
