Fiesta Chili -- nothing sticks to the ribs quite like chili with its protein rich beans and hearty tomato base. The striking combination of small red beans, black turtle beans and earthy pinto beans give Fiesta Chili the "Southwestern New England" look. Is is robust and spicy without being overpowering. Great for picnics and tailgating...!!! Serve it to the family or to a crowd. Either delicious way, this wonderful all natural Fiesta Chili will satisfy the heartiest of appetites every time. Fiesta Chili Instructions
Add the following:
3/4 Pound sausage (Hot and Sweet or a combination of both)
3/4 Pound ground beef
2 Large onions, chopped
1 28 oz. can of tomatoes
Remove Savory Spice Pack, and set aside. Rinse beans thoroughly. Drain and put into large pot with 8 cups water. Boil fiercely (uncovered) for 10 minutes. Cover and let stand 1 hour. Drain. Add 8 cups of fresh water and return to a boil. Lower heat, partially cover and simmer for 2 hours or until beans are very tender.
Remove sausage casing, crumble and brown in a large pan along with ground beef. Add chopped onion and sauté till onions are soft. Add entire contents of the Savory Spice Pack to mixture. Sauté 5 minutes and set aside.
When beans are soft, add meat and tomatoes (undrained) to the bean pot. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally for 1 hour or till done.
Add more water if needed.
YIELD: 2½ quarts of a Robust Tasting and Spicy Fiesta Chili.
