Savory Soup Sack® Confetti Split Pea Soup Mix
Easy... AND Delicious...!
Confetti Split Pea -- nothing has rich "cook from scratch" flavor quite like our split pea soup. Our tasty and attractive variation on split pea soup comprised of a four (4) color combination of split yellow and green peas, orange lentils and barley. Delicately flavored with our spice pack for the refined palate. Serve this to the family or to party guests. Contains no salt, sugar or preservatives. Each Savory Soup Sack comes with easy to follow cooking instructions, nutrition facts and savory soup mix spice pack.
Confetti Split Pea Soup Instructions
Add the following:
1 ham bone or 2 to 3 smoked ham hocks, 1 ham steak or smoked turkey
2 to 3 fresh carrots, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped
Remove Savory Spice Pack and set aside. Rinse and check soup mix carefully. Drain. Add 8 cups of fresh cold water and boil for 2 minutes. Set aside 1 hour. Then drain again.
Place Confetti Soup Mix into a large kettle. Add desired smoked meat. Add 8 cups fresh cold water and bring to rapid boil. Reduce heat and simmer partially covered for 1-1/2 hours.
Remove meat from the pot and allow to cool. Cut meat from bone, carefully chop and return to kettle. Add the vegetables and entire contents of the Savory Spice Pack.
Continue to simmer partially covered 1 hour or till thoroughly cooked. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve to waiting and hungry guests.
FREEZES WELL. Yield: 2 quarts of Delicately Flavored, Tasty and Delicious Split Pea Soup.
